Another Weekend....

Another weekend...and we had a good time with Jocelyn. She spent the night last night. We went out to IHOP with her and took some cute pictures of her tasting a lemon. It was cute. We sent the pictures to her momma! Jocelyn and Shannon played games, until sleep claimed them both. I gave in to sleep a long time ago. It has been a good week, we had Breanna spend the night with us on Thursday and watch Vampire Diaries. We had pizza and just enjoyed that--in between home work and snapping pictures for her momma. Both of the girls were in good spirits and seemed to enjoy their time with me and Shannon. We tried to get Audrie to come too, but she didn't want to spend the night. She doesn't spend the night away from home, hardly at all. But, she did give us plenty of hugs!! Jocelyn is going to a birthday party, Shannon is at work, and I'm blogging. My plan is to hit the grocery store and get a "few" things--then, go home and clean up the place. I want to explore my lap top and look at the writing program, so I can write on the computer. I love to write, in case, you didn't know that. I guess it is my escape. Tomorrow is church and then I really am going to my office and get some work down. I may start a Bible study at church Sunday night--I haven't decided for sure yet. Well, guess that's enough of the weekend! Catch you later!

Waterless Weekend

What a weekend! Shannon and I had no water all weekend! We had to beg baths, bring in jugs of water, and watched the dishes pile up! We never realized how much we took water for granted! Finally, our water was restored today. So, we are bathing, doing dishes, and doing the laundry! It's wonderful to have water. My list of chores continues--I have Friday and Monday off so I'm hoping to either spring or winter clean!! I hope everyone has a blessed week and never run out of water!

It's The Weekend!!

It's the weekend and I can't do much on my list because we have no water!!! It went off last night, so I went to work since I couldn't do much at home! I hope the water is on when I get home!! This has been a busy week at work as you can see since I didn't write any this week. I saw the girls this week and they were adorable as always and giving me their McDonalds order. Not even Jocelyn wanted a Happy Meal, they like the bigger orders now! I may need a second job!! LoL!! I don't know what they're up to this weekend. I haven't heard from them, but they are probably busy with getting their rooms put together and spending time with daddy--since he's off for the weekend! Not much else to say. My time is almost up at the library, so I'll check in again soon! Later!

I'm in a purple kind of mood.....

I'm in a purle kind of mood, which is good! I am expecting a good day and I have decided to be happy. Happiness is not a by product. Happiness is a choice. I choose to be happy and will make this a good day. I have decided not to be moody, not to be gloomy, and not to be a pain. I have decided to smile and pass it on! I am a child of God, I am blessed, I have a beauitful family, and I have too much to be happy about and nothing to be sad or mad about! Life is what you make it, and I've decided to celebrate my life! My life is good and because of the blessings of God and His unfailing love for me--I am blessed. I choose to be a blessing to others and not a burden! I choose to spread happiness, and God's love to others. I'm in a purple kind of mood--and that's cool!

Thinking about Hatti, and wondering............

I woke up to the news on Thursday about the earthquake in Hatti and was brought to tears as they showed photos of the destruction and the people. The news started out with "it's as if Hatti has disappeared!" I can't imagine living through that and my heart really grieves for the children, and all the people affected by this. The people who have survived seemed so lost, frightened, and desperate. The destruction of the country and the people seems to me to be the worst disaster yet. I feel so helpless--there doesn't seem much that an old woman from Texas can do and that brings me to tears as well. A lot seems to bring me to tears--I guess it's the age and being female! All I can do is pray--pray for the country, the people, the children, the rescue workers, pray for peace, pray for the supplies and the water to get to the people, pray for order, pray for hope! There is always hope, and I take comfort in that. I know people are scared and it's hard to maintain order--but I pray that with help coming that the people will calm so that the aid can get to them. I pray for Hatti to find God and He will give them the peace that passes all understanding. Maybe you think you can't do much, but there is nothing more powerful than prayer--talk to God, ask God, and trust God. Anyway that's a little this and that from the mind of an old woman here in Texas.
